Third trip of the season for the Wagenhauser boys and buddies was another great one. Admittedly, we didn’t come back with as many fish as we usually do. Tons of striped bass around, but lots of shorts in the mix allowed us to keep just a few. We then gave the togs a try, but between the raging tide and gusty winds, the action was less than stellar. A few fish went in the box, but not what these guys are accustomed to! They’re already in the calendar for next June, July and October, so better fishing to come! And congrats to Pete on his retirement!
First-timer Dave Dalen and his family and friends sailed with us today for another incredible day of fishing. Started off landing over a dozen striped bass, most in the 40 lb class. We picked out a few slots, and released the bigger ones. Then switched over to bottom fishing, and packed away a limit of jumbo sea bass and a few nice scup. Couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday.
