After yesterday's blow, we were all hoping for calmer waters this morning. We got what we asked for—calmer waters —but only so very slightly. The wind was howling at 6 am and only three of our 8 guys decided to brave it. It was a long and rolly ride to the point and we were greeted by an abundance of bluefish and very picky striped bass. By late morning, we decided to try our luck bottom fishing, and it paid off with over two dozen sea bass up to around 4 lbs. Looking forward to getting the full crew out for Day 2 tomorrow!

Despite this morning's slop, a blinding sunrise graced us all.
Left the dock at 6 am with Jim Hope and crew for their annual trip with us. Strong winds and high seas made for a very bumpy ride out. Ultimately, we decided to scrap the trip. Always disappointing doing that, but my interest is in making sure the guys are safe and having a good time. A few other boats kept steaming and I hope they all have good trips. For Jim and gang, it's until next year! Was great seeing them anyway...even if just for a quick boat ride! Sorry it wasn't a better day, guys.

Today we had the team out from William Miller and Associates. We had a full boat today, so we went to Block Island to cash in on the red hot bottom fishing. The gang enjoyed non-stop action with porgies and sea bass. I dropped the ball today as far as pics, it was busy in the cockpit all day. Looking forward to seeing these guys next fall.
This morning we had the team from Allied Building out for an awesome morning of bass fishing. We had our 9 bass up to 35 pounds. The action was fast and furious, we had fish almost every drift. The bite is red hot.

Sailed with Sean Devens and crew this afternoon. We were planning to make it a full day, leaving the dock at 12:00. But the wind against tide made for some nasty conditions and despite the guys putting together a great catch of slob bass, they decided a half day of fishing was more than enough. Kudos to the crew for sticking it out in some real slop. Job well done! Enjoy your fish!
Nice display of this afternoon's catch.
Another great photo of the guys.
Spent the morning with Eric Chiarulli and his crew. Could not have asked for a more productive trip. Started out bass fishing and had our limit in just over an hour. Then loaded the box with sea bass for the rest of the morning. Not as calm on the water as yesterday, but that didn't stop the fish from chewing. Looking forward to seeing Eric again in a few weeks!
A quick pic of five of the six.
Always nice seeing one of these swimming...(more)
