We had the pleasure of fishing with AJ Scheff and crew this afternoon. Much better conditions than the morning, when we had wind against tide. After landing a few bluefish, we decided to switch over for fluke, which paid off with a few nice fish in the box. Great seeing AJ and having the guys with us today. Hope to do it again later this season!

First fluke trip fishing with the Keystone Yacht Club crew. Didn't snap many photos but here's one of Sammy. Lots of shorts in the mix but we managed a few keepers for the box. More this weekend.

Well, that's a wrap. Calling it a season and starting the steam back west for the winter. Hoping to be tied up by around noon. Stopped at the lighthouse to toss over the usual apple turnover for Grandpa. I know he kept an eye on us this year. Tried to snap a pic but still dark and a little sloppy, so not a great shot.

Our deepest thanks to everyone who fished with us this year, which was our best yet! We recognize there are many beautiful boats and talented captains in Montauk and we genuinely appreciate those who chose to fish with us. Thank you, and best wishes for a great winter. Had the pleasure of again sailing with Marc Jacobs and crew. We decided to steam east for sea bass, despite knowing the ride home wasn't going to be pretty. The action was steady once we started drifting and the guys did a good job of swinging a number of keepers over the rail. After close to 20 fish, given the increasing wave heights, we decided to call it quits and crawled back to the dock. Took us over 2 hours to get home. Not a pretty ride, though we still managed a ton of laughs. Looking forward to seeing them next spring, when it's not as cold and windy!

The fish are still chewing, however. Season's not over yet!

The boys put together a nice catch of sea bass this morning, despite less-than-ideal conditions.

Firas and the boys from NJ sailed for the first time with us today and we decided to target the togs. Ran up north to Rhode Island and while fishing wasn't as hot as I had hoped, the guys did a nice job of putting meat in the box. Had to fish through the shorts, but the keepers are out there. A windy and chilly day it definitely was, but still, there's nothing like being on the water! Hope to see them again next year!

Another beautiful morning on the water. Didn't have time to make the same steam as yesterday, so we stayed a little closer today. The bite wasn't as hot, but we managed a number of sea bass and scup. Noticed a few bluefish in the mix, so we tossed in a jig and put a few of them in the box as well. Plenty of food for dinner! Only snapped one pic of the gang showing off a few of their catch. Still plenty of action of out here!
